TAKE 2, TAKE CARE FAIR

When I hand out flyers for the TAKE CARE FAIR, most people say, "Wow, this looks amazing! Must be a lot of work for you." And I always say, "Yeah, but it's what I love to do, so it doesn't feel like work."

I co-created the TAKE CARE FAIR because I love finding new avenues of health and wellness, as well as learning about and tapping into, ancient and current techniques for healing. This "research" makes my body shiver with excitement. It makes me have wild energy bursts when I think of the fair, with all of the practitioners under one roof giving mini sessions. Or all of the amazing organic, hand made, sustainable, beautiful, local, medicines, herbs, crystals, tinctures, clothes, and all who will be present sharing energy and space on June 30th and July 1st in Hudson New York. I want to go to every presentation. I want to talk to every practitioner. I want to smell each heavenly candle. I want to eat all of the healthy clean, delicious foods that will be there, wear all the jewelry, and taste all the flavors of the Calmbucha Kombucha. I want to dance every step of the 5 Rhythms workshop.

A lot of work does go into the TAKE CARE FAIR. A lot of hours on the computer. Tons of driving and footwork around the tri-state area. Many meetings, and phone calls. Some paint stained hands, and some late nights ignoring my family, my child, myself... but I cannot lie. I love all of it. I feel such a passion for this work that it feels like someone... (The universe, Hudson River Exchange, Myself...) is letting me play my most favorite game. And when I finish all the other things I have to do to live, like eating, sleeping, driving, and going to my other jobs, I get to take out my toys and play again. I love finding new practitioners and retreat centers, coaches, and products and people to reach out to. I love gathering all of this information and reaching out to these people. I live for believing in them, promoting them, collaborating with them. It is truly what pumps my heart and keeps my will to live at 100% when I think of how this Fair has become what it is and what the future holds. I am so thankful for every minute of working with Hudson River Exchange and I know that this TAKE CARE FAIR is blood, sweat and tears for everyone. For me, it is sweet happy tears, blood that enriches, and sweat that cools. The work that they do I could never do! It's the combination of us that makes the fair grow the way it does. It's like TAKE CARE FAIR is the Earth, and we are the sun and the moon, doing our daily and nightly work, dancing through our paths, completing our cycles in joy and balance so that the Fair can evolve in the best way. So, it is with great pride, and excitement that I share with you the lineup for this years Presenters and Vendors, and our highlights.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you can come and share the weekend with us. Here is a little explanation of what TAKE CARE FAIR is, if you don't already know:

HIGHLIGHTS

One BreathPaintings: Be Present by Filiz Soyak

One Breath Paintings: Be Present is an interactive art installation and ongoing art project by artist Filiz Soyak, which invites people of all ages and abilities to participate and connect in a mindful exercise creating art with their breath.

Inspired by Zen-Buddhist mindful practices, grounded in meditation, and created using a simple action, people will be invited to create a one-breath painting using ink and paper. Participants will be encouraged to breathe deeply, let go of expectations, and be truly present in their creative action.

When complete, each one breath painting will be added to a collective installation. The result will be a evolving mural of #OneBreathPaintings created by individuals – but connected and unified, in their action, and breath. Debuting in Hudson this spring, the goal is for the project to travel and grow into a collective movement of creative mindfulness around the globe.

5 Rhythms “Interdependence” Celebration

Lead by Stephanie Diamond

Saturday June 30th, 6pm-8pm

Let’s move together – dance in celebration of health!

5 Rhythms – Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, and a dynamic dance practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star of ourselves that yearns to be free.
